Who? I am a 19 year old student studying Sports Journalism at Staffordshire University. I have held a season ticket at both Highfield Road and the Ricoh Arena following Coventry City for many years. Success has been starved. While my main aim is to provide my own insight, analysis and opinion, I will also be giving hints and tips about everything Championship related.
Why? This blog is here to give The Championship a fair crack of the whip in terms of world football. To me, the Premiership is now nothing more than a brand, so it’s only fair that the english second tier receives some much needed and much deserved attention. I am also doing this blog as part of my degree, but let’s try and stick to the ‘giving the Championship a fairer crack of the whip’ line.
When? I will update the blog at least three times a week. There is always something going on in The Championship, be it manager sackings or last minute transfer details. You can be sure to hear my opinion. I would love to hear your comments about what I have written so don’t be shy!
Contact. If you think that i’m missing something, or maybe there is a feature you would particularly like to see, then please feel free to contact me at: stefancurtis@mac.com (You will receive a reply within 2 working days.)

Keep up the good work. I like the layout and the concise nature of some of the writing. It has the potential to become big. Also ……..Dann and Fox have been called up for the England Under 21 squad
Just don’t become as partisan as John Gaunt on Talk Sport. You should consider this site becoming a blog for all fans outside the Prem. There should be a general debate messageboard….Politics? news/events/ debate on anything. This actually worked really well on Gmk before the change recently.
You may have spotted the debates on GMK recently.

Thank you very much for your comments. Very much appreciated! I think it would be great to introduce a messageboard and it is definitely something I will be looking in to.

Hi Mads, thanks a lot for the comment.
Championship football is really on the up so whichever game you go and see i’m pretty sure that you will be guaranteed to witness a great match, and of course it will be much cheaper to see a Championship game than a Premiership game! Seeing as you are based in Manchester, the local teams around that area would be the likes of Preston, Blackpool Barnsley and Burnley, however of those teams, only Barnesley and Blackpool are at home!
From the games you have mentioned, i would recommend one of the following:
Coventry v Burnley. (Coventry are my team, and we are probably about 2 hours away from Manchester. Should be a good game!)
Barnsley v Sheff Wed (Both these teams were in a relegation battle last season, so although it could be a scrappy game, it’s bound to be entertaining!)
Nottm Forest v Ipswich (Two evenly matched teams.. could be a great game!)
Sheff Utd v Southampton (Another two closely matched teams, likely to be goals!)
Hope that helps mate!
Cheers, Stefan.
